Projects
Neural Processing of Vocal Pitch
- Center for Language and Cognition Groningen, University of Groningen, 2024-2028
- This project examines how speakers use auditory information to monitor their vocal pitch. This project is supervised by Dr. Defne Abur, Dr. Frank Tsiwah, and Prof. dr. Martijn Wieling (funded by Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science Starter Grant awarded to Dr. Defne Abur & Dr. Frank Tsiwah).
The Production Effect
- Center for Language and Cognition Groningen, University of Groningen, 2022 - now
- Reading aloud has been shown to enhance memory, a phenomenon known as the production effect. This project investigates the neural basis of this memory advantage. This project is supervised by Dr. Frank Tsiwah and Prof. dr. Jelmer Borst.
Multimodal Language Processing in Social Interaction
- Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behaviour, Radboud Universiy Nijmegen, 2023 - now
- Language communication involves processing both auditory and visual information. This project investigates the influence of eye gaze direction on language processing during face-to-face interaction. This project is supervised by Prof. dr. Judith Holler and Dr. Alexandra Emmendorfer.
